The 54th Grammy Awards’ website was built with the help of the Away3D library which leveraged the power of the new Stage3D API in Flash Player 11 The website acted as a music visualizer. Each user was prompted to create a playlist of songs which they could share on facebook and twitter.
The website won the FWA site of the day award on April 5th 2012.
Here’s a video capture of an early build of the website that shows the particle animation that was applied on artists cover arts and the environment lighting that changed depending on the mood of each song of the selected playlist.
